Support & setup

A little guidance.
A better gathering.

Practical help for preparing your study, leading in Meet, and keeping everyone on the same passage.

Nexus Bible · Free to use

Nexus Bible lets your group read Bible passages, compare translations, and explore Hebrew and Greek words during a Google Meet™ activity.

Marketplace publication approved. Install Nexus Bible from Google Workspace Marketplace™. Google says Meet functionality can take up to seven business days after approval to become available.

Free to use

All features are included. No subscription or separate Nexus Bible account is required.

Present from Meet while everyone watches

  1. Open Nexus Bible from Meet’s Add-ons tab and choose a passage.
  2. Select Present in Meet. The scripture opens inside the meeting.
  3. Keep your Meet side panel open to search, move between verses, change layouts and show word studies.

Participants who join the activity can view the scripture but cannot change it. Google Meet™ may show an invitation to join; Nexus Bible cannot hide that invitation. Joining requires a compatible Meet client and access to the add-on. This does not add native mobile app support. For attendees who cannot join the activity, select Broadcast · screen share under Presentation mode, then choose Open broadcast tab. End any existing Nexus Bible activity, then use Meet’s Present now to share only the scripture tab. Return to Meet and change verses from the side panel. Viewers watch the screen share without installing Nexus Bible. Broadcast does not start an add-on activity; an existing activity must be ended to remove its invitation. After switching between presentation modes, open a fresh broadcast tab.

Start an interactive study instead

  1. Once Nexus Bible is installed for your Google account, open it from the meeting’s activity tools.
  2. Choose a passage and your display layout: Verse, Compare, or Caption.
  3. Expand Let participants interact and select Start collaborative activity. Participants who join can change the shared scripture. Starting either mode creates a fresh session; participants must join the new activity after a switch.

Find and navigate passages

Enter a reference such as Jn 3:16, or search for words such as the Lord is my shepherd. Word search uses the KJV text. In search results, use ↑ and ↓ to choose a result, then Enter to open it.

Outside a text field, ↑ selects the previous verse and ↓ selects the next, including across chapters and books. The Previous verse and Next verse buttons do the same. Select Read chapter to return to a whole chapter.

Explore Strong’s words

Select a linked Strong’s number in the passage preview to open its Hebrew or Greek entry. Choose KJV+ as the reading translation to show those links on the shared display. Some English added words have no source link; Luke 17:36 has no linked numbers in this dataset.

If something stops working

  • The app takes time to open: the current free host may need about a minute to wake up after inactivity. Wait, then retry the add-on.
  • The shared session expired: close the activity and reopen Nexus Bible to start a new one. A server restart or deployment ends the current session.
  • A translation is unavailable: try again or use KJV/KJV+, whose complete text is bundled with the app. Other translations rely on an external Bible service.
  • You cannot find Nexus Bible in Meet: installation and availability depend on your Google account and your organization’s app settings. Visiting the Nexus Bible website does not install the add-on. The listing is approved; Meet availability may take up to seven business days after approval.
